A doctor has provided 1 answer

May need strep test: Sore throat and tonsillitis symptoms usually are evaluated by a rapid strep test in addition to an exam. If there are strep germs, antibiotics such as Amoxil (amoxicillin) or Zithromax are needed. Sometimes tonsils get whitish mucousy stuff on them. A patient can call around town to see if there is a new PCP who can fit her in within 48 hours. Going online to her insurance's website can bring up a PCP list.
