IBS: 19 yo female w. constant abdominal cramps unaffected by menses. If previous invasive abdominal/pelvic procedure, then adhesions worrisome. W/O signs of UTI, pain from spastic intestinal muscles & irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) likely. IBS is dysautonomic/functional problem devoid of objective findings; see GI MD. Avoid GYN MD's, who often invoke a theoretical disorder they term,"endometriosis".
