Varies: Some women begin having frequent uti's after becoming sexually active. If your symptoms are occuring usually after having sex, a suppressive antibiotic to take when you have sex would be appropriate. If that is not the issue you should see a urologist for evaluation and treatment.

Multiple: 1. Not remembering to empty bladder after intercourse 2. Trouble keeping bladder completely empty due to constipation, pressure from large uterus, diaphragm, pregnancy, even tampax 3 bladder stretching when don't void frequently enough 4. Irritants like excess coffee.
