What mean of copd excarbation?

Acute worsening : COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is thought to be a chronic low grade continuing inflammatory disorder due to smoking (most of the time). There is a problem getting air out of the lungs. An acute exacerbation means worsening of the chronic process due to an infection. It is characterized by increased sputum production, greenish-yellowish sputum

COPD: That means an acute worsening of breathing in a patient who has been diagnosed with COPD or in some cases where there is enough clinical evidence to support the diagnosis if it had not been made prior to the episode.

Acute Episode Worse: COPD is chronic disease of the airway and includes Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema.Acute Exacarbations happen if there is a respiratoary infection,like acute Episode of Bronchitis with increased sputum production,shortness of breath with or without feverand has to be treated aggressively.May need Oxygen.Respiratory thrapy and Antibiotics if indicated and often systemic steroids often in Hospital
