Is there a reason?: It is always best to go into spontaneous labor if you don't have a medical reason. It is technically "ok" to be induced after 39 weeks without a reason, but added intervention is not without risk. If you don't go into labor by a week after your due date (41 weeks), most doctors would induce you at that time.
