Fibroids. : I suspect they told you they have fibroids, probably noted when you had an ultrasound during the pregnancy. Fibroids (leiomyomas) are benign tumors of the muscle of the uterus. They cause discomfort during intercourse often because of their location in the uterus and because they make the uterus heavier. Their size can be reduced hormonally or they can be removed via surgery or radiologically.
