Dependence.: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and all narcotics can produce side effects of nausea and constipation right here and right now. The only long term complication is the dependence which you have alluded to.

Side effects: Short term use of narcotics taken as prescribed for a painful condition are useful. Physician monitoring and an end point of treatment are critical to avoid addiction. Aside from this the most common side effects are constipation, dry mouth, light headedness, nausea, and possible vomiting.
