?Trigger finger: Several things can cause painful triggering of a finger. The most common is a so called, "trigger" finger where your flexor tendon enlarges and can no longer slide smoothly through a tunnel at the base of your finger. Less common is a snapping extensor tendon or ligament. Try splinting the finger straight for a few weeks, if this does not help get it checked out.
