Yes: Prescription lenses are very expensive and soft cloth material is highly recommended to reduce scratches.

Not really: You can clean them with ordinary dish washing soap and a soft cloth. Microfiber cloth is terrific for doing it without the soap and you only need soap for a serious accumulation of dirt on the lenses. Specials wipes are overkill.
