Many: Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) can cause weight gain, fatigue, cold intolerance, constipation, fluid retention, heavy periods, excessive sleepiness, hair loss, muscle pains/weakness. However, these are nonspecific symptoms. Most people who have these symptoms do not have a low thyroid causing it. Checking a TSH level will confirm if the symptoms are related to thyroid or not.
