Several causes: This type of pain can have several causes. It can be local such as a strain or rhomboid bursitis. It can originate inside the chest cavity. If it is tender, it is likely a local issue. Have a doctor evaluate it if it has been present for a while. If recent try heat at the area and either advil or aleve (naproxen).
