A member asked:

How long is it normal to get cramps before you start bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

None to several days: People vary when the cramps with a period start. For some women the cramps can start 3-4 days (or more) prior to the period, and other don't get cramps until the period starts or the flow gets heavy. Most people have a pattern of bleeding and cramping that is normal for them, though this does change over time.
