Esophageal spasm: Cold liquids can sometimes trigger spasms of the esophagus. Esophageal spasms can cause difficulty swallowing (dysphasia) or pain. Suggest you see a gastroenterologist for an evaluation.

Cold-induced Pain: You should see an ENT physician to rule out serious causes of throat pain - especially if you are a smoker or have reflux (gerd). There are other neurological conditions that can cause this or it could be a variation of an "ice cream" headache.
