Transient: Hours to a day or two. If not gradually diminish then is concern for local tissue intolerance of the vaccine substance and might take longer. A secondary bacterial infection is possible, but would be a rare occurrence and noted by swelling, hot, red, tenderness and feverishness. If worsens at least talk to person on-call for practice where you got shot.
