No bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for virus: No. Only is there is a secondary infection. Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is an anti-biotics and works against certain bacteria. Shingles is due to a virus (herpes zoster) virus and antibiotics do not work against viruses.
