What's a normal cold: Difficult to diagnose based upon little information given. Stuffy nose & dry cough suggest "normal" cold but hot flashes & chills might be due to influenza or even pneumonia. If you're otherwise feeling ok (aside from being sick), otc acetaminophen, Ibuprofen & Naproxen are useful to take away fever. Ibuprofen & Naproxen should never be used together since both are nsaids & can irritate stomach.
