Several things: The first thing you should do is have your doc examine your joints to determine if any existing problems are present and to determine if there are any limitations. Your doc, a physical therapist, or fitness trainer can advise you of some exercises and/or programs that are kinder to the joints and still provide you with the benefit of exercising.
