There are meds: Like Neurontin (gabapentin) or tricyclic antidepressants that can interfere with the nerve signal causing the itch. A doc should look to make sure nothing else has developed there, like infection.

Yuk: Sorry can be a bad problem. You can try zostrix (capsaicin) cream but it could be messy in the scalp. The itching, burning can last months after the spots disappear . Good luck.
