Could be: The ulcers possibly could be a allergy related problem, however, a more likely cause may be due to irritation or abrasion of the tissues in contact with your mouthpiece. You should return to your dentist and have him evaluate your ulcers to determine the cause.

Possible: It might be a cause but more than likely it is possibly due to pressure on the mucosal tissues by the mouthpiece leading to the problems. You can always have patch testing to determine if there is a chemical allergy.
