Titanium: Most recent metal implants are made of titanium because of use of magnetic resonance imaging ferrous or iron compounds heat up in magnet and can be drawn into magnet. Patients are interogated about pacemakers, internal metal objects, surgical implant and procedures involving metal insertion prior to scanning.
