No: It is never normal to have trace of blood in the urine. You may have blood in the urine but not see it, but if blood is visible, it is definitely not normal. See a doctor.

Not Normal: Likely it is not a big issue. Repeat and make sure they look under the microscope for red blood cells. The dipstick can be positive with muscle breakdown, certain dyes in foods and other conditions. If blood cells present you should be evaluated for bladder cancer especially if you smoke or work in the chemical industry. In addition a kidney ultrasound to rule out kidney cancer is reasonable.
