Rheumatology w/u: Shoulder pain that refers to the wrist or migrates to the wrist, can certinly be from nerve root irritation in the neck, but the work up will also include ruling out carpal tunnel which can present in this manner. Others dx: gout, infection, and a host of other rheumatologic conditions, the less serious would include overuse syndromes, or delayed onset muscle soreness from mild trauma.
