Don't lie down!: No seriously, your body does just fine maintaining acid-base balance. What you want to do is find out what foods cause heart burn. Also see if you can eat earlier in evening to allow food to move out of stomach & be less likely for acid to come back up. You can try to elevate head of bed w/2x4 or brick. Or try over-the-counter antacids & heartburn meds. Don't forget to see doc if this continues.

U could have acid : Reflux . Go see your dr to be sure you're taking adequate meds . Avoid caffeine spicy foods alcohol , smoking etc don't eat at least 45 mins prior to going to bed at night . Check more info online about gerd.In the meantime take some antacids and Omeprazole . If untreated , acid reflux can cause irritation of esophagus which sometimes can lead to cancer.

Heartburn: Heartburn or reflux can occur because of many issues. You should avoid lying down for up to 3 hours after eating as this can increase reflux due to eliminating the benefit of gravity. Raising the the head of you bed about 3-4 inches can decrease the incidence of reflux. You can try an over-the-counter acid blocker such as Pepcid or zantac (ranitidine) and see if you symptoms improve.
