Febrile Low Back P: Yes. The temp warrants evaluation especially if it does not respond to tyelenol or ibuprofen. Flu can increase muscle and joint pains including the back.

Maybe.: Lower back pain and high fever is concerning for kidney infection although unusual in male. If he looks ill or is getting worse i think ed is the right choice. If he looks stable to you and you can get appt with your doc in am that may be an appropriate answer as well.

This is concerning: The initial presentation may have suggested a flu-like process, but am alarmed by the high spiking temp, which is very worrisome in an adult. I do believe medical attention asap is vital. Play it safe, please.
