Psychosomatic: A psychosomatic disorder is one that involves both mind and body (psyche and soma). Physical disorders are generally accompanied by emotional responses, & vice versa (physical blushing with emotional shame, for instance). Psychosomatic medicine is also a subspecialty of psychiatry, dealing with patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric illness and the interaction between them.

Psychosomatic: Psyche refers to the mind and Soma (carisoprodol) refers to the body. When our emotions/thinking create physical symptoms we call that situation "psychosomatic." it does not mean anyone has a mental illness but it can be a response to stress. The reverse is true also. A bodily illness can impact our moods. Peace and good health.
