Oral contraceptives: Current oral contraceptives are very low dose hormones that should be taken consistently on schedule. You can usually expect your cycle to start within 3 days of your last dose. Extending your length of treatment will delay your period and can be done safely to accommodate your schedule. This may however alter your succeeding periods for up to 3 months.
