A member asked:

Besides papsmear tests, what else can be used to detect cervical cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Biopsy, lab test: A thorough physical exam is essential including pelvic exam, sometimes under anesthesia. Sometimes pap smears are suspicious, then a biopsy is needed. A lab test called a ca-125 can be helpfull but is not always positive. Once a diagnosis is made further tests need to be done before a plan of treatment is set up.
