Sweet!: Yes it's true: honey has antimicrobial activity & can help in wound healing because it has hydrogen peroxide, a low ph & a high concentration (osmolarity) as well as bee derived antibacterial proteins. Unfortunately the activity is variable. Manuka honey derived from manuka bush of new zeland is one having activity. Care w/honey use is important because botulism spores can be transmitted too!
