A member asked:

What can you tell me about tarlov cyst?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tarlov Cyst: This is a pouch of spinal fluid and nerve formed outside of the spinal canal, but may erode into the bone near the spinal canal. These are usually asymptomatic unless large >1.5cm. Treatment is after a diagnosis of exclusion—if all else fails, nothing else evident, and >1.5 cm, then surgery may be successful. Again, usually not symptomatic. This is a blemish on the nerves like a mole on the skin.
