A member asked:

Compression fracture to lumbar vertebrae. how would this be fixed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends on the type and location of the fracture and the age of the patient. Often times, wearing a brace and avoiding strenuous activities will allow a compression fracture to heal in younger patients. It usually takes 3 months to heal. Some fractures require surgical stabilization. In the elderly, if conservative measures fail, a kyphoplasty may be an option. Check out spine-health.Com.
