Yes: Anti-inflamatory medications, physical therapy and bracing can help alleviate the symptoms but not necessarily cure the problem. Often have to resort to surgery when all else fails.

Yes: Most people with spondylosis are treated successfully with a physical therapy directed exercise program. Surgery can help in some cases. Spondylitis can be progressive but usually can be well managed without shortened life span. Certain activities may be hard and life style may need to be adjusted.
