Bad breath : Need to see your dentists, possible periodontal disease( gum) or if your husband is a smoker need to see an ENT for proper diagnosis.

Could be gum disease: Periodontal disease can cause bleeding gums and halitosis. I would recommend he has his gums looked at by a dentist to see if the bleeding is in fact from the gums. You want to rule out other conditions like oral lesions which can cause bleeding as well.
