Yes if no outbreaks: Vaginal delivery is the recommended route of delivery unless you have an active herpes outbreak while you in labor. If there is an active outbreak at that time then a C-section should be done. Risk can be decreased by taking prescription medication called Valtrex (valacyclovir) once daily starting at 36 weeks gestation.

Yes if no lesions: You should not have a vaginal delivery if you have active genital herpes. You should intead have a c-section. This is to prevent vertical transmission to your baby. If you have previously had a herpes outbreak but no lesions now, you can have a vaginal delivery. If this is the case, you will also be on suppressive therapy to prevent any outbreaks around your due date.
