Yes: Yes, which is why if you have ever had a herpes outbreak, to tell your doctor if you get pregnant. You will need to be on suppressive medication starting at 36 weeks to avoid transmission to the baby. Also, if you are having a herpes outbreak at the time of labor, c-section is recommended.
