A member asked:

I've gained 20lbs on cymbalta (duloxetine). is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, but...: It is probably not all that usual for pts to gain 20 lbs on cymbalta, (duloxetine) but it does happen. We have to remember that a medication may not be the only cause for weight gain: depression (if that is why you are taking cymbalta) can cause wt gain, as could a variety of medical conditions, or just overeating or lack of physical exercise. Before quitting the cymbalta, (duloxetine) examine lifestyle changes as well.
