Three possibilities: A spontaneous abortion or miscarriage without medical or surgical intervention can take between 2 and 6 weeks to pass(most cases). If treated with Misoprostol the fetus will pass in about 3 days. The safest and best way is for a gynecologist to remove the miscarriage by doing a d&e or vacuum aspiration. This method prevents complication from heavy bleeding. I'm sorry for your loss.
