Doubt. Maybe immune?: Although anything's possible, it's doubtful you acquired anything from your date. Chances are you've been exposed to herpes simplex type 1 (at least) in the past, simply by being alive. Even type 2 is found as the cause of some fever blisters on the mouth (it's not limited to a sexual habitat), so you could have been exposed to both in the past, regardless of your sexual history.

But, you should know your herpes status. 75% of americans have type one and 25% of americans have type two. All information that we know about herpes has changed in the last five years. Please get the blood test so you do not have to worry about this or so you can learn what to do if you have this infection.
