It can be: Gas is a byproduct of digestion. However, if there is a significant change in your bowel patterns, it can be a sign of problems with digestion such as malabsorption (lactose intolerance or celiac disease), inflammation or infection. Try some antigas medications and look up a low gas producing diet. Avoid dairy for a week or 2 and drink 60-80 oz of water a day. If persists, get it checked.
