Pallative Measures: What most people call a fever blister is herpes simplex i - a virus that has to run it's course of 7-14 days. Your dentist or md can give you meds. To take that may help if it just came on but generally when we see them all we can do is help with the discomfort and help you prevent them coming on again. You still should see someone to be sure it is what you think it is if this is the first time.
