May be nothing: Missed periods, especially in times of stress, are not uncommon. However, the obvious other answer is pregnancy; if you have had sexual intercourse, a pregnancy test at the appropriate time would be indicated.

Pregnancy test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Missed period: Pregnancy is certainly the most common reason for a missed period when sexually active. An anovulatory cycle (your ovary just does not release an egg that month), thyroid conditions, rapid weight fluctuations, extreme exercise, stress, etc. Are all other causes that may be possible. If you are having sex unprotected, check pregnancy tests, otherwise if you miss your next one too, see dr. For eval.
