Very little is known: Natural killer (nk) cells may well be important in implantation and maintenance of pregnancy. Unfortunately uterine nk cells are hard to get to - we don't have good ways to measure their activity or to influence what they do. Taking blood from your arm and 'testing' peripheral blood nk cells doesn't help. Depo-lupron treatment prior to ivf may improve implantation in women with endometriosis.
