A member asked:

It is said that sperm can stay inside vagina for up to 72 hours but is it actually unlikely to stay alive that long & actually impregnate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: When you are approaching ovulation the cervix produces a stretchy, egg white-like mucus that actually favors and protects the sperm and helps it on its way. Sperm have been reported to be able to survive in this mucus up to 6 days, and can definitely still impregnate.
