Veggies > fruits: Veggies seem to have a greater impact in some of the more recent studies in preventing recurrence after treatment than did fruits or fruits combined with veggies. The amount of veggies as a whole, the variety, and the amount of cruciferous veggies all have a significant impact on preventing cancer recurrences. Likely similar findings will be found in preventing the initial development of cancer.

No certainty: Other physicians here will need to decide for themselves. Studying this is famously difficult. I've followed it for three decades; the results of retrospective and a few prospective studies have been sadly contradictory and confusing. I can't honestly tell you that any claim about the anti-cancer effects of foods that people generally recognize as wholesome are also evidence-based. Wish i could.
