Is it acceptable to give a seven month old albuterol?

Only if doctor says!: If your child's doctor prescribes albuterol for him/her to treat wheezing, then give it. Never use someone else's prescription for your baby. Albuterol only helps for wheezing/reactive airways disease, and if that's not what your baby has, it wont help and it can have side effects.

Yes: It is used for asthma, bronchiolitis and wheezing associated with other conditions. It does have some side effects just like most medications. Common side effects are high heart rate and jitteriness.
