Absolutely: The same virus that is causing your sore throat can infect any of the mucous membranes of your mouth and respiratory tract, so yes your palate, throat, nose, windpipr, vocal cords... All can be involved in a viral infection. Try salt water gargles if area swollen as this will help reduce swelling. Drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest. Nsaid's (ibuprofen etc) are good for pain and inflammation.
