Permanent : Essure is permanent. There are involved, expensive surgical procedures to remove the coils but they are not certain to result in fertility. The risk of pregnancy after essure with post procedure hsg documenting success is <1%.

5/1,000: Essure is very effective with only 5/1, 000 patients conceiving after the procedure. The removal is best at the time of insertion because later it is embedded in the tube it is considered permanent and irreversible.
