24hrs: The usual course for the stomach flu is crampy abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and maybe vomitting that lasts only about 24hrs.

Gastroenteritis: Gastroenteritis symptoms may include: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps/pain, headaches, muscular aches ; pains as well as fever (low grade). Bloody stools are not usually associated with gastroenteritis.
