Could be: Hd can cause death but you need to know it is one of the most treatable and curable malignancies at present. Chemo and radiation can be very effective against it.

What are the effects of lymphoma treatment in pregnancy?

It depends: The treatment of lymphoma depends on the type (hodgkin's vs non-hodgkin's) and stage, and can include chemotherapy and/or radiation. After the first trimester, and avoiding radiation, it is possible to limit toxicity to the fetus, but your team should include your cancer doctors (hematologist/oncologist), your obstetrician and a pediatrician specializing in neonatology (care of newborns).

How can lymphoma be prevented?

Dr. Ephraim Hochberg
Medical Oncology 25 years experience
No: Unfortunately there's no known way of preventing lymphoma. Certain rare types of lymphoma only occur in patients with HIV or can be caused by other infections, so in one sense preventing these infections can prevent lymphoma.
A 27-year-old member asked:

What is "melanoma lymphoma"?

3 doctor answers8 doctors weighed in
Dr. Stephen Noga
Medical Oncology 34 years experience
I don't know: It is possible that you have 2 very different cancers lumped together. Melanoma is one form of cancer and lymphoma another. They are quite different. On the other hand multiple myeloma is another type of cancer that is often confused with melanoma. I would be glad to revisit this question with you if you research the disease a little more. On the other hand, i may learn something new.
