Biopsy: A core biopsy of the enlarged lymph gland/s or mass/lump would be needed to establish a diagnosis. Then further work-up would be needed-which include- a bone marrow biopsy, pet scan and ct scan for staging purposes.

Low: Hodgkin's lymphoma is treatable and curable disease in majority cases. With the treatment that we have for hodgkin's lymphoma , if treated appropriately, the risk for dying from hodgkin's lymphoma is low- approximately about 1 in 400 will have hodgkin's lymphoma 1:2000 will die from it. Off course, the prognosis will depend on the stage, and biology of the cancer as well as overall condition of pt.

Hodgkins lymphoma second time what type of treatment would be recommended?

Dr. Christian Schultheis

Depends on age: If young, one would consider a bone marrow transplant depending on location of disease, response to pre transplant chemotherapy. If not a transplant candidate, radiation, salvage chemotherapy. There are several options all with good responses. Hope this helps. Difficult to give you a definite answer without reviewing the pathology, scans, and examination.
