Depends: Sertraline makes some people drowsy. For them, it should be taken at night. Others feel it has a caffeine effect; for them it's a morning pill. Either way, the drug lasts all day, so in terms of depression or anxiety treatment, it doesn't matter.

Every day: The time it of day for sertraline doesn't matter unless it causes sleepiness (take at night) or restlessnes (take in daytime. If you take other medications or vitamins, take the sertraline with them so that there is a pattern that's easy to remember. Sertraline, like all antidepressants, takes time to begin to have an effect, and needs daily dosing to maintain an effect. Sporadic doses=>failure.
